Frozen

Frozen. A highly discussed movie. The family-friendly, award-winning, cozy and lovely movie about a kingdom in Arendell, (or is it Arendal?). Two girls without parents, a reindeer called Svein, Kristoffer the ice guy, Hans the “lovely” guy, a snowman, the ice monster, and many other characters are making this movie both interesting, sad and funny. Here is my opinion about Frozen, as well as loads of critical important knowledge. By the way, if you`ve watched Frozen, you can pass the first paragraph. Enjoy!

Action

The frosty winter adventure starts with a royal family, who rules in Arendell. One of the two daughters, Elsa, was born with magical power. Practically, she can turn water to ice, as well as building huge ice castles, and tiny snowmen. After almost killing her sister accidentally, Elsa`s power is kept hidden inside the castle, consequently, all of Anna`s memory about it, is taken away by magical trolls. Furthermore, after a little time, their parents had to go on a business trip. Suddenly their father and mother drowned shipboard a wooden ship. What is Elsa going to do? What happens? Furthermore, how is it solved?

Target group

The story based on the story “The ice queen” by H. C. Andersen, with the directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, became a movie loved by the children. The songs got singers from all over the world, particularly many, many little Elsa`s in their cute, light blue dresses. Tough some of the grown-ups may think it’s a little bit grown out, there’s still a ton of fans left and many more, who are waiting to see Frozen 2. Also, the critics were pretty good; 5 from “Filmmagasinet” (The film magazine) And 4 from “BT”.

 Based on

Frozen are indeed inspired by Norway and the Norwegian culture. The name Arendell is in fact inspired by Arendal, a city in southern Norway, at the coast. Most of the names are also typically Norwegian, such as “Svein”, “Kristoffer”, and “Elsa”. Some of the people from the crew visited Norway for ideas and went around to spot buildings and other fun things that they could add in. You can spot both “Bryggen in Bergen” and “Akershus Fort” in the finished movie. They did also include Norwegian culture such as northern light, a stave church, bunad and lye fish!

Music

The music mostly made by Christophe Beck, made all the scenes float together. When Anna (Kristen Bell) sang “First time in forever”, many hearts melted. furthermore, while the ship drowned, and the highly dramatic music appeared, in the middle of “Do you want to build a snowman?”, I imagine eyes teared up.

Opinion

Personally, I think it is a great movie. The critics were good, I loved the music, and the actors who voiced over did a pretty good job, voicing all the emotions. Through the whole movie, my favorite song, sang by Kristen Bell (May Kristin Kaspersen in Norway), is “Do you want to build a snowman?”.  If it was me voting, I would probably have given Frozen a 5, just because it`s always those petty things who could have made it better. But again, the songs were amazing, and I loved the scene`s where Kristoffer was involved.
