”Princess Lulu Goes to Camp” is a book written by Kathryn Cristaldi. The story is about Princess Lulu that has everything she wants and can get everything she wants. But what she doesn’t have, is a friend. So she get send to a camp so called “Camp Ruff n’ Tuff.” This is where her life gets changed.

The main characters in this book are Princess Lulu and her friend Tuna.

Princess Lulu: She is a very selfish person that only thinks about herself. But deep deep inside her heart there is a friendly side of her. Even though she is the mean princess, she has feelings.

Tuna: She is a very thoughtful person that is friendly to everyone. She wants to be friends with Princess Lulu because she thinks Lulu is funny, and nice in a strange way…

Conflict:

I would say that the conflict in this book is when Lulu arrives to the camp and hates everything and wants to get out of there. She is therefore a “mister grumpy face” since she gets on the buss and until Tuna says that she is funny. When Tuna says she is funny, Princess Lulu becomes happy because no one has ever said something like that to her.

The writer of this book wants to tell us that worrying about trying new things and end up liking the thing you didn’t want to do turn’s out to be good after all. When Princess Lulu realizes that Tuna isn’t so bad after all, she’s beginning to see how easy it is to make friends. All she’s got to do is to be friendly and nice.

The plot is that Princess Lulu thinks that the Camp is a palace, so she orders people to do things for her. But then she sees that she have to do it on her own. At the end of the story, Tuna gives Lulu a present, a pencil. Now they can write to each other. And when Lulu come home again you can see the different, and that she has changed.

This book was very easy to read. This is a book for children in the age 6 years old. I thought it was boring. But I understood what the message in this book was, and I think a 6 year old kid would understand it to.

On a scale from 0-10 (and from the thoughts of a 6-year old kid), I would give this book a 7. It has a very important message to bring and does so bye Princess Lulu becomes best friends with Tuna.
