Moose

The moose is the largest member of the deer family. The moose lives in forests in North America, Europe and Russia.
Moose are long legged and heavy bodied. Their colour ranges from gold brown to almost black. Adult females weigh 300-600 kg. Cow moose generally breed at 28 months. Males in prime condition weigh from 500-700kg. Calves are born any time from mid May to early June.
During fall and winter moose consume large quantilies of willow, brinch and aspen twings. During summer ,moose feed on vegetation in shallow ponds.
Moose are killed by wolves and brown bears. Many people hunt moose.
