Remember, beauty is only skin deep
Vi møter Sarah. Ei vakker jente med en trøblete oppvekst og en rotløshet i seg.
Engelskeksamen 2010. Oppgave 3c.
She was the prettiest girl in the class. Her hair was long, straight and blonde. She had green beautiful eyes, and a smile that could melt Alaska. She was 1.60 tall and was wearing a tiny skirt and a hot pink top. She had perfect curves, and when she bend down you could clearly see her light pink panties. Her name was Sarah.
The other girls always bullied her and called her a whore. What they didn’t know about Sarah is that she was orphan. Her parents were dead. The other girls didn’t know that she was adopted. In her childhood, her parents had been taking drugs and drinking. They often beat Sarah because she cried, and every night she had been begging for her mom to get sober. In an age of six, her parents had died of an overdose of heroin. Sarah had been put into an orphanage. She started school, and by an age of seven she got adopted by Mr and Mrs Swan. They changed her name, and she where now called Sarah Olivia Swan.
Now back to where we left off. When Sarah went to Junior High School, she often got forced to have sex with the boys in 10th grade. Her new family didn’t care very much about her at all, and she got her first baby at an age of 14. The baby died when it was a month old, and it was the most horrifying moment of her life. She had been much away from school because of the baby, and now she had lost half a year of school. Sarah’s mind was truly messed up. She was starving at school, and she had to sit all night long to catch up on school, and she barely slept. After a month she was so exhausted that she couldn’t sit at her desk at school. The school sent her to a doctor. The doctor said that Sarah needed sleep. It was the only thing that could help.
She slept for three days, and then went to school on the Monday after. At school she was sitting in a corner crying. A boy came walking over to her. It was the first time this had really happened. He walked over to Sarah and said:
-Hi, what’s up?
Sarah just stared at him. It was John. He lived two blocks away from Sarah. John had blue eyes, and brown curly hair. He was 1.70 tall and his face was blushing. Suddenly he sat down next to Sarah, and put his arms around her.
-I’m so tired, she whispered.
Her voice was a bit crunchy, after she had cried so much. John just kept holding her as she cried on his shoulder. She felt like he was an angel.
-I love you, he whispered.
Sarah’s heart skipped a beat. What? Did he just say that? Sarah didn’t quite believe it at first, but then she realized he actually meant it. The next day Sarah and John talked all the time. They talked about everything, everything what was on their mind. Sarah’s dream had finally become true. She had always dreamt of a boy who could protect her from the evil that was her life. Someone she could talk to. And someone that really understand her. Sarah and John became a pair who could never lie to each other. And their relationship only got stronger every day, never to be torn apart.
One day when Sarah went to school, she didn’t see John. She went all day anxious about what could have happened to him. When she got home she tried to call him, but no one answered. She felt more and more anxious about him, but then she gave up. The day after she read in the newspaper: “young kid killed in car accident.” She felt like her world broke together, and she just sat down on the floor crying. She didn’t go to school the rest of the week, she was just laying home on her bed crying.
When her parents got home that night, they didn’t see Sarah. Her mom walked up to Sarah’s room, and saw her daughter dead. By her side she got a big kitchen knife, and a piece of paper. The paper read:
“Dear Mom and Dad. I have gone to visit the only person who cares about me, and it’s John. I saw the newspaper, and found out why he wasn’t at school, and didn’t take the phone. He was dead. So I hope you can forgive me.
-Sarah”
Her parents were horrified by this, seeing their daughter laying on the floor, in a huge pale of blood and reading her message.
So I’m just saying: Do NOT judge anyone for how they look, and do not believe everything your friends say, it may be far away from the truth. And when you get to know them, you may experience that they have a bigger heart then you thought!
